Let me start off my saying that I spent a good amount of time researching what my new laptop purchase would be. I was looking for something with portability, great battery life, relatively updated specs, and solid processing power for movies at a reasonable price. I also wanted a brand with a good reputation for hardware life and performance. This laptop certainly fit the bill for all my requirements. Now I’m sure that I don’t push the laptop to its limits as I am not a gamer or big multimedia person, but I do like to multi task between several programs for my work and photo editing and thus far have had no problems with this machine. As far as the battery life goes, it is superb. I can go hours and hours without plugging in and while I doubt the computer can go the entire advertised 11 hours, I certainly have gone 6 or 7 hours easily while working. The only issue I have with it is the touchpad which just prevents it from getting a 5 star review, but you get used to it after a while and honestly I think the computer’s overall performance makes up for it.
Overall, this computer has been all I can ask for. There are a lot of Asus detractors out there who say why not just get an Acer or HP at 1 or 200 bucks cheaper. I say why not spend a little extra on something you’re going to be using frequently and buy some peace of mind that it won’t break down in a year. At a price tag of 0, you’d be hard pressed to find similar performance and reliability in another machine.
